As part of our efforts in computer science education, we are proud to announce that Hisar School has become the first and only Fab Academy Node in Turkey and the second at the K-12 level worldwide.
Hisar FabLab
In 2019, Hisar FabLab:ideaLab was accredited as a FabLab by the international Fab Foundation, making it one of the first FabLabs established in Turkey. Since then, it has hosted numerous inspirational projects, research initiatives, and academic studies. Now, by earning Fab Academy Node status, we are further strengthening our commitment to digital fabrication and innovation-focused education programs.
Fab Academy Node: Part of a Global Network
Becoming a Fab Academy Node grants us the authority to run this prestigious, globally recognized educational program. With this certification, Hisar FabLab can now provide digital fabrication training not only to our own students but also to high school and university students in Turkey and worldwide, as well as professionals working in the field.
Hisar Fab Academy Program Launched
As of the 2024-2025 Academic Year, Hisar School has officially launched Turkey’s first and only Fab Academy program. This program offers students a world-class digital fabrication experience while providing them the opportunity to join the international Fab Academy network.
- Courses are conducted face-to-face at Hisar FabLab, equipping participants with a strong foundation in digital fabrication technologies.
- Students participate in interactive online sessions connected to over 65 Fab Academy centers worldwide, engaging in content sharing via an online campus.
This program aims to develop students’ skills in design thinking, digital fabrication, creativity, and problem-solving, preparing them to become globally competitive individuals.
A Hands-On and Intensive Learning Experience
Fab Academy provides an intensive, hands-on learning journey, where students design and develop a new project every week. This process enhances their technical knowledge and practical skills, while also strengthening their innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Students create a personal technical portfolio showcasing their knowledge and projects.
- Their work is shared and evaluated within the international Fab Academy community.
- The program enables students to master digital fabrication technologies through an experiential learning approach.
Fab Academy is designed to empower students not just as knowledge consumers but as innovative creators. Through this program, students collaborate on international projects, work with experts across various disciplines, and develop cutting-edge solutions.
Advanced Digital Fabrication Training
Throughout the program, students acquire expertise in key digital fabrication techniques, including:
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- 3D Printing
- Laser Cutting
- Electronics Production
- Programming
