At Hisar School, fire safety is a critical component of our commitment to maintaining a secure learning environment. In compliance with national regulations and international best practices, we implement comprehensive fire prevention, preparedness, and emergency response measures. Our fire safety protocols include regular drills, continuous staff training, and state-of-the-art fire detection and suppression systems. Regulations and Laws on Fire Safety and Fire Protection of Buildings

The minimum measures that all educational institutions across the country must take for fire safety are specified with precise instructions within the scope of theRegulation on Fire Protection of Buildings No. 2007/12937. The measures to be taken by the Ministry of National Education within thescope of fire safety of schools are determined by this regulation.

All institutions (taking into account the number of employees) are obliged to carry out the necessary preparation processes in line with the instructions specified by the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 dated June 30, 2012.

In the laws and regulations, many factors such as the intended use of the buildings, user load, hazard class, fire load, square meters of the building are evaluated and the measures to be taken are clearly stated.

At Hisar School, preparations for fire and other emergencies are meticulously carried out every year in line with the relevant laws and regulations, as well as consultancy from expert institutions in the field. Updated regulations are followed, necessary revisions of new instructions are planned and implemented.

In the legal process that started with the entry into force of the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 dated June 30, 2012, published in the Official Gazette, Hisar Schools have one (1full-time Class A Occupational Health and Safety Specialist with the specialties of “Fire Instructor Trainer Trainerand “Explosion Protection”, one (1) full-time Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, one (1) full-time Occupational Physician, and four (4) full-time nurses, although it is not mandatory in the legislation.

A total of three infirmaries within the institution, one in B-Block, one in the Sports Center, and one in the outer campus area designed for emergencies, are ready for intervention atany time.

In this context, the precautions planned before, during and after a fire at Hisar Schools are presented below for your attention. Our employees and students are informed about the dangers that may cause fire through trainings and drills, and we try to create a school community that is aware of fire safety.

Fire Safety: Precautions for Buildings, Spaces and Infrastructure

Building Hazard Classification: Within the scope of the legislation, Hisar Schools are considered as “less hazardous”. Since the preparations at the “less dangerous” level are kept at a minimum level in the regulations, all indoor areas in our school are classified according to the hazard level (1- Less dangerous, 2- Dangerous, 3- Very dangerous) and the preparation processes are carried out in accordance with the specified risk environment.
Cabling System: In the last 4 years, the electrical and data infrastructure of all buildings on the campus has been replaced with flame retardant cables. (NHXMH Halogen Free) and renovated with reinforcements.
Access Roads to Buildings: In all buildings on our campus, necessary arrangements have been made to ensure easy access for fire trucks
in case of a possible fire.
Escape Routes, Escape Stairs, Evacuation Doors: Escape routes and stairs in our campus have been calculated and planned accordingly, taking into account the number of students, exit capacity, escape distance, number of escape routes, width and floor user load.
Culture Center-Atatürk Hall: With a capacity of 550 people, the Cultural Center Atatürk Hall, which hosts conferences with wide participation, has measures above the measures required by the user load.
There are four emergency exit doors, smoke detection,
sprinkler extinguishing system, portable fire extinguishers, fire alarm system and FM200 extinguishing system.
Science Laboratories: In our laboratories, materials are stored and used in accordance with the precautions in theMSDS forms. Each chemical are kept locked in special fire-resistant cabinets designed according to the storage standards of their class. Ventilation of the cabinets is provided by suction motors (exproof).
Elevators: All elevators in our buildings are arranged in such a way that the fire alarm system is activated, regardless of their exit direction, they will be on the emergency exit floor and their doors will be in open standby mode.

Fire Safety Communication and Equipment Based Measures

Fire Detection and Warning Systems: Smoke, heat and gas detectors in accordance with TSE EN 54 areinstalled in all our buildings. There is a fire warning system that can be heard throughout the campus. Each building has itsown separate control panel and all control panels monitored 24/7 at the Security Center. A possible fire is shown locationbased on the fire monitoring panel.
Emergency Lighting and Guidance: Emergency lighting and directions in all our buildingshave been made in line withthe instructions specified in the “Regulation on the Protection of Buildings from Fire” in such a way that they canbe easily seen, clearly understood and provide lighting for at least 120 minutes in case of power failure.
Sprinkler System: In order to prevent or extinguish the spread of fire, the sprinkler system has been installed insome places and
designed to be activated automatically,
although it is not mandatory for our institution in line with the instructions specified in the
regulations.
Lightning rods Lightning rods are placed at 3 differenthigh points to protect our entire campus against lightning, one of the possible fire starting factors.
Water Extinguishing System: Our fire cabinets are positioned at a total of 53 points, three times the number specified in the laws and regulations. Our fire cabinets are regularly pressurized anda backup energy supply has been madeto prevent the pressure value from dropping in the event of a possible fire. The backup fire pump was created in accordance with the legislation and law. We have
hydrant systems at 7 (seven) different points in our open areas.
Gas Extinguishing System: There is automatic extinguishing system FM200 in the server rooms and main electrical panels of the building
Portable (Mobile) Extinguishing Devices: In all areas of our school; easily accessible, threetimes the number specified in laws and regulations A total of 175 mobile extinguishers containing KKT/CO2 are available.
Dining Hall In order to prevent a possible fire in our kitchen, a hood extinguishing system has been installed and regular maintenance and cleaning is carried out

Fire Safety Assembly Areas

In case of a possible fire, designated gathering areas in safe areas, separately for pre-school, primary, middle and high school.

Fire Safety Teas and Training

A Fire Response Team has been established within the scope of laws and regulations. The team consists of 20 people and receives Fire Intervention Training every year. Necessary equipment and materials have been provided and regular checks are carried out. In addition, a 20-member Search and Rescue Team has been established. The team regularly receives five-day trainings covering to fires both after single and other disasters. Trainings are carried out in with AKUT, IMM Fire Department and expert consultants.

Fire Safety Drills

Fire drills are held twice a year throughout the campus. During the drills, counts taken in the gathering area, necessary controls are carried out and building entrances are allowed after approval by the Emergency Management Coordinator. An evaluation report is prepared after each drill and necessary improvements are made.

Continuous and Regular Evaluation and Update Processes

Hisar School is committed to building a safe future for its students, employees and all stakeholders through sustainable safety policies. Our school has procedures and guidelines for earthquake, fire and other disaster situations and is updated according to changing regulations. In this context, Hisar Schools manages fire prevention, intervention and evacuation processes comprehensively and all practices in full compliance with legal regulations. Within the scope of disaster preparedness, fire protection work and operation processes are meticulously carried out; on the one hand, fire trainings, drills and awareness-raising activities are organized for the health and safety of campus users, while on the other hand, physical environment requirements are updated with the most advanced systems, equipment and equipment. Fire safety systems, evacuation plans and emergency response teams are regularly reviewed, and the effectiveness of processes is ensured through internal and external audits. The measures taken within the campus and the security protocols applied at external events handled with an integrated risk management approach and are continuously improved.
