Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center

Hisar School offers a comprehensive and inclusive psychological counseling and guidance program designed to address the academic and psychosocial needs of every student. Through individual and group counseling, student assessment and observation, psychological tests and inventories, career guidance, classroom guidance, and orientation programs, students are supported in their personal development and adjustment to their educational journey. Students’ diverse cognitive needs are identified and appropriate support is provided, while their awareness of career pathways and future planning is strengthened. Partnership with parents is fostered through individual meetings, grade-level meetings, workshops, and information sessions. For students with additional needs, teacher support groups are established, while teachers are supported through resources, classroom activities, and collaborative teamwork, ensuring a holistic approach to student development. Guidance services and resources are also shared with the wider school community through school newsletters, information boards, and the school website.

Hisar School adopts a Child Protection Policy and implements preventive practices, while developing intervention plans when necessary. Through the SELF social-emotional learning platform, students, families, and educators have access to relevant and supportive resources. The Hisar Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center, serving students from PreK–12, operates on the principles of confidentiality, trust, and unconditional acceptance, providing a safe environment where students can be heard without judgment. The Center is staffed by 16 bilingual specialists, all of whom hold graduate degrees, and operates through interdisciplinary collaboration. Student development is monitored within an ethical framework, with information shared across grade levels when necessary to ensure continuity of support. Reaching every student, supporting their development, and providing guidance aligned with their individual needs remain key priorities throughout the academic year.

Within the continuity of the PreK–12 educational journey, key responsibilities of the program include supporting students’ learning processes, helping them develop effective study habits, identifying areas for growth, and planning the support they need. Building strong partnerships with families, who play an important role in students’ development, and providing guidance with the best interests of the student at heart are also integral to the program.
