STEM Workshop with Preschool Parents

We came together with our Preschool parents for the “STEM at Home” workshop. During the session, we explored how the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach supports children’s curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving skills in early childhood, and how it can be transformed into rich learning opportunities in everyday life.

As part of an engineering design challenge, parents worked to build sturdy bridges using limited materials. Throughout the process, they had the opportunity to generate different ideas, collaborate, develop solutions through trial and error, create new strategies to address challenges, and refine their designs.

The bridge designs created during the workshop have now begun to make their way into our learning environments, where they are being explored by our children. Our students are thinking about the durability of the bridges, making predictions, testing the designs, and sharing their observations.

We believe that this enjoyable journey of discovery, which began with our parents, will continue throughout the summer through our children’s curiosity, observations, and new discoveries.
